4-Day Mount Meru Climb with Accommodation

Embark on a 4-day climb of Mount Meru, the second highest mountain in Tanzania. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the Meru Crater.
Climb Mount Meru, the third highest peak in Africa, on a 4-day trek. Enjoy a guided climb with an armed ranger, sleep in designated huts along the trail, and see wildlife in Arusha National Park.

Day 1: Arrive in Tanzania
Be picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to Arusha town. Meet your driver guide who will brief you on your upcoming safaris, then rest until the next day morning.

Day 2: Momela-Gate – Miriakamba Hut
Drive from Arusha to Momela-Gate. After a short registration at the Gate, begin your walk with a fully armed ranger escorting you. See wild animals including elephants, zebras, giraffes, monkeys, and antelope.

Day 3: Miriakamba Hut to the Saddle Hut
Walk from Miriakamba-Hut to the saddle below Little Meru. Take a short climb to the summit of Little Meru for superb views just before sunset.

Dinner and overnight night at Saddle Hut

Habitat: Forest and Moorland.

Day 4: Saddle Hut – Summit – Miriakamba Hut
Start early at around 1:30 AM to climb steeply to Rhino Point and onto Cobra Point. Reach the summit on time for sunrise and see Kilimanjaro Peak above the clouds. Take a short rest and brunch at Saddle Hut before continuing the descent to the Meriakamba Hut.

Day 5: Miriakamba Hut – Momela gate
Take a short and fast descent way through open grassland and mixed forest, with the possibility of seeing wildlife before reaching Momella Gate in the late morning. The returning transfer will be waiting at Momella Gate to pick you to your hotel in Arusha/Moshi.
