Day 0: Arrival in Moshi
Welcome to Moshi, the gateway to your 5-Day Marangu Route trek to Mount Kilimanjaro! Upon arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll be greeted and transferred to your lodge. Relax, acclimate, and prepare for the adventure ahead. Accommodation: Cozy lodge in Moshi.
Day 1: Moshi to Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
Begin your trek with a drive to Marangu Gate (1,860m). Trek through lush rainforests, filled with unique flora and fauna, to reach Mandara Hut (2,700m) after an 8km hike. Spend your first night surrounded by nature’s tranquility. Accommodation: Mandara Hut.
Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Continue your journey through heather and moorland landscapes. Trek approximately 12km with stunning views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. By afternoon, arrive at Horombo Hut (3,720m) to relax and enjoy the scenery. Accommodation: Horombo Hut.
Day 3: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
Ascend towards Kibo Hut, passing the “Last Water Point” and traversing the impressive Saddle between Kibo and Mawenzi. Covering about 10km, this segment offers a striking alpine desert experience. Reach Kibo Hut (4,703m) by late afternoon. Accommodation: Kibo Hut.
Day 4: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut
Summit day! Start early to ascend to Uhuru Peak, reaching Gilman’s Point (5,685m) by sunrise. Continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), Africa’s highest point, then descend to Kibo Hut for a brief rest before heading to Horombo Hut. Accommodation: Horombo Hut.
Day 5: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate, Departure
Descend back to Marangu Gate, complete formalities, and receive your summit certificate. Reflect on your achievement as you're transferred back to Moshi. Stay overnight at a lodge or proceed to Kilimanjaro International Airport, ending your incredible adventure. Accommodation: Comfortable lodge in Moshi.

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
