The Swiss Half fare card has a validity of 1 month from the chosen start date. It allows up to 50% discount on use of public transportation in most of the Swiss towns & cities. To access public transport, an extra ticket is necessary. The passenger must acquire a locally available reduced ticket to travel on the specific desired route. These tickets can be purchased on the manned SBB counters or the machines. When locally purchasing the desired tickets, be sure to select half fare card in the reduction or discount field. Free admissions to museums are not included. Children under 16 yrs years enjoy free travel with the complimentary Swiss family card. They must be accompanied by at least one parent possessing a Swiss Half Fare Card along with a valid ticket. Children below 6 years of age travel free of charge. There is no discount for senior citizens for the Swiss Half Fare Card.

The half fare card is pre-validated at the time of purchase and can be purchased 6 months in advance. Please ensure that you accurately fill in your country of residence and passport number during the checkout process, as this information will be printed on the pass. Please select the correct start date.

This card can only be available for persons with residence outside Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein. The Swiss Half Fare Card is accepted across all regions within Switzerland.

The Swiss Half Fare Card remains valid for a duration of one month from the chosen commencement date and is not tied to the calendar month. For instance, if the card was acquired with a starting date of July 15, its validity extends until the conclusion of August 14.

Proof of owning a Swiss Half Fare Card is not required at the time of ticket purchase; it will be verified on board.

How to obtain your reduced-price tickets:
You must secure your discounted tickets prior to boarding. Tickets can be purchased on the SBB app or website, from ticketing machines at the stations or at staffed rail stations during operating hours.

Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
