Enjoy a unique combination of boat, rack railway and cable car travel to Rigi. This varied tour in the heart of central Switzerland is suitable for both a half or full-day tour.
Discover Rigi, the Queen of the Mountains, from its most beautiful side on a half or full-day tour. Begin with a boat tour on Lake Lucerne to Vitznau. Modern motor boats and nostalgic steamboats (in the summer) bring you over the incredible, fjord-like water to Vitznau.
From Vitznau, head to the Rigi Train on the queen of the mountains. Fantastic views of the Swiss Plateau, the Black Forest, the Vosges Mountains, and the Alps await from Rigi Kulm. Descend with the rack railway to Rigi Kaltbad and from there take the cable car to Weggis. Finally, return by boat to Lucerne.
Please note: from 4 March– 28 March 2024 the cable car from Rigi Kaltbad to Weggis is not operating due to maintenance work. During this time The excursion to Rigi will be made via Vitznau for both the outbound and return journeys.
You are not bound to specific times and can choose the times for yourself. There are regular departure times all day long.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
From November 18 to 29, 2024 the cable car from Rigi Kaltbad to Weggis will not be operating due to maintenance work. During this time the excursion can be done via Vitznau both ways.
As soon as there is snow on the Rigi, we recommend that travellers in wheelchairs travel via Vitznau. Passengers who are dependent on an electric wheelchair are also recommended to travel via Vitznau. Low-floor trains generally run from Vitznau, making it easy to get on and off the train.
The boat station is adjacent to Lucerne train station. Please check on site to see from which pier the boat to Vitznau leaves.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
