Description

Get up close and personal with Africa's famous Big Five and other wild animals on our Full Day Safari Tour, a two and a half hour drive from Cape Town.
Aquila Game Reserve
Take a 2-3 hour open-air 4x4 safari excursion and explore the 10,000 hectare game reserve and spot the Big Five. Before you descend towards the lions' reserve, you can come across an antelope herd as you enter. The magnificent sight of the male Cape Barbary lion—a rare find—will astound you! You will then view a large variety of antelope species, herds of zebras, endangered rhinos, stunningly marked oryx, elands, and wildebeests.

Huguenot Pass
As you embark on this scenic journey, you'll wind your way through the majestic Du Toitskloof Mountains, passing through the impressive 3.9 km long Huguenot Tunnel. Emerging on the other side, you'll be treated to a breathtaking panorama of towering peaks and lush valleys, stretching as far as the eye can see. A leisurely drive through the picturesque Breedekloof and Hexrivier wine regions on route to the Klein Karoo.

The Klein Karoo
The Swartberg (Black Mountain) to the north and the Langeberg and Outeniqua mountain chains to the south encircle the Aquila Game Reserve, which is situated in the Klein Karoo, one of the most breathtaking regions in the Western Cape. When European pioneers first arrived in this arid region in the late 17th century to study the semi-desert natural area, they discovered that the only inhabitants were the Khoisan people.
