Discover the ancient cities of Sri Lanka on a 4-day tour from Colombo. Explore the country's most iconic and historically significant sites, including the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the Dambulla Cave Temple, and the ancient cities of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Kandy.
Day 1: Colombo - Sigiriya
Depart from Colombo and head to the Sigiriya, en route stopping at Dambulla Golden Temple. Dambulla Cave Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the murals and the 157 statues of Buddha. Check-in the hotel and rest. In the afternoon, climb Sigiriay rock fortress. Overnight stay in Sigiriya.
Day 2: Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa - Sigiriya
Early morning, climb Pidurangala ancient temple and witness the sunrise. Later in the day, head to Polonnaruwa, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the ancient city and see the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Vihara, and the Lankatilaka Temple. In the evening, optional Minneriya National Park safari. Return to Sigiriya for the night.
Day 3: Sigiriya - Dambulla - Anuradhapura - Kandy
After breakfast, continue to Anuradhapura, the first capital of Sri Lanka. See the ruins of the city, including the sacred Bo Tree and the Ruwanwelisaya Stupa. Return to Kandy for the night.
Day 4: Kandy - Colombo
After breakfast, Kandy sightseeing tour. You will be visiting the tooth relic temple, down town Kandy, Natha Devala, and royal botanical garden. Later drive to hotel in Colombo.
