In this tour, we are aiming to be in the YALA National Park at dawn or dusk. These are two of the best times of the day, which gives you the highest chance of spotting the elusive Sri Lankan leopards, which is a leopard subspecies native to Sri Lanka. With approximately a hundred individual leopards, YALA is recognized as the National Park with the highest leopard density in the world.
What happens on a typical day on safari?
A. Pick-up time at 3.30 a.m. - in and around the Koggala/ Ahangama/ Weligama/ Mirissa/ Matara/ Dondra/ Talalle area. All pick up times - (Morning Safari - 3.30 a.m./ 4.00 a.m./ 4.30 a.m./ 5.00 a.m./ 5.30 a.m./ 6.00 a.m./ Afternoon Safari - 10.30 a.m./ 11.00 a.m.)
Earliest two times in the Morning Safari (3.30 a.m. & 4.00 a.m.) are the most recommended. Please adjust the times in the itinerary according to the pickup time you select.
B. Get down from the Taxi (Air-conditioned Car or minivan)
Make the payment for the Taxi & Meals (if requested) at Ajith Safari Jeep Tours Office.
Get into the Safari vehicle - at Tissamaharama at around 5.30 a.m.
Here, there's 1 hour break in Afternoon Safari for you to have lunch.

C. Morning Wildlife Safari/ 1st Game Drive (Starting at 6.00 a.m.)
D. Break at Patanangala Beach in YALA National Park (20-30 minutes)
This will give you time to enjoy your breakfast

E. Morning Wildlife Safari/ 2nd Game Drive (Ending at around 9.30 a.m.)
F. Get down from the safari vehicle and get into the Taxi - at Tissamaharama at around 10.00 a.m.
G. Drop-off time at around 12.00 p.m. - in the same place where you have picked up.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please be informed that the entrance fee for the YALA National Park, the Fee for the Taxi, and the Price of Meals are not included in this Tour package.
You need to pay the Taxi Fee and for Meals (if requested) at the Ajith Safari Office (By Sri Lankan Rupees, USD, Euro or by a Visa/ Master) before the start of the Safari.
Pay the Entrance Fee at YALA entrance by cash in Sri Lankan Rupees or through a credit card. (There is no facility at present at the YALA National Park entrance to make cash payments in foreign currencies)
To run the safari operation financially smoothly, it requires at least a payment of two guests per booking.
Only 50% of the price of an adult will be charged for children above 5 and below 12 years old. The children aged 5 or below will be given the chance to ride the safari free of charge. (Letting the future guardians of the planet Earth take their first steps in experiencing to be aligned with nature)
Children below 12 years must be accompanied by an adult.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
