Duration:

Description
Cycle along one of Spain's most beautiful cycling greenways. A mostly flat repurposed railway track that weives between mountains, through spectacular tunnels and awards you with stunning vistas.
Once we meet at the selected meeting point, we will drive to the historic town of Olvera and the start point of the Via Verde de la Sierra. Once here you will be fitted with bicycles and helmets and given a briefing of your activity. Once ready you will start the self-guided part of your activity.
You will start from the old repurposed train station at Olvera and head west along the dedicated cycle and walking route. As you cycle the 36km (3 hours) from Olvera you will ride amongst olive groves, farmland and beautiful panoramic vistas and you will start to feel the route for its original intention as you cycle through the self-lit tunnels.
The 30 tunnels throughout the route provide a stunning industrial contrast to the picturesque views along the route but are not the only reminder of its past as you will find old stations along the path, some of which have been turned into service areas, providing opportunities to grab a drink, rest and even learn about the nesting vultures by the local nature reserve.
As an old railway line, the hills you encounter are short and not steep and the route itself gradually descends meaning you travel mostly downhill.
Your guide will meet you at the endpoint, the station at Puerto Serrano and will also be your support vehicle in case of any unexpected issues.
From Puerto Serrano, you will then travel back with your guide to the meeting point in Ronda.
