Take a boat excursion from Puerto Colon in southwest Tenerife and get almost guaranteed sightings of pilot whales. Pass by a fish farm looking for hungry dolphins, and keep your eyes open for massive squid!
Sail off the coast of southwest Tenerife on a 2-hour boat excursion looking for whales and dolphins. The boat departs from Puerto Colon, travelling 2 or 3 miles from the coast, where the pilot whales are often to be found. The beautiful sea mammals live permanently in the area, and are seen all year around.
Sailing by catamaran, you will also pass by some fish-farms, where the clever dolphins are often looking for an easy meal.
The crew are very knowledgeable about all the whales and Tenerife's other marine life. As you sail, you will also learn about the huge squids that can grow up to 40 feet (12 meters) in length, and live at depths of up to 2,600 feet (800 meters) between Tenerife and La Gomera.
If you choose the 3-hour option the catamaran will stop in the bay of Playa Espagueti and you will be able to enjoy swimming and snorkeling off the boat.

The time of the snorkeling is about 30 minutes but it can vary according to the time spent looking for the whale.
In order to protect the fauna, the boat can´t spend more than 15 minutes with the same group of whale, and needs to respect a certain distance

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 48 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 48 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
