Are you ready for an adventure that will take your breath away? Caminito del Rey is a suspended walkway built 100 years ago for the workers of El Chorro Hydroelectric Power Plant. It was reopened in 2015 and has the most impressive landscape in the province of Malaga, with mountains that emerged millions of years ago and vertical canyons born by the force of the Guadalhorce River.
Along the route, learn the real story behind the construction and use of this great work of engineering. Listen to stories of adventurers and climbers, some of whom died inside the throats. Hear about the visit of one of the most powerful men in the history of Spain, King Alfonso XIII.
The trail has a length of 4.8 miles (7.7 kilometres), but it is a simple walk and it is not necessary to be an athlete to do it. Caminito del Rey is a one-way walkway, you will start at the North access (Ardales) and you will end at the South access. There is no need for you to worry about how to get to Caminito del Rey as you will have transport from Málaga to the North access included, where you will start the visit with your guide.
