The castle is divided into two areas: the neighbourhood of the Castle, located on top of the rock and surrounded by the walls of the castle, and the neighborhood's Outskirts, which was created later and population extends from the skirt of the mountain.
We started the path through the Castle district, where you will find incredible walls with a lot of history. They were built by the muslims to protect everything that was inside. Are still retained some canvas and can be distinguished from the towers that adapt perfectly to the natural environment. Although, without a doubt, one of the maximum exponents that are left of the wall is the gateway to El Castell de Guadalest.
The castle is an open-air museum.
