Why don't you make a wish, too? Indulge in the flavors of Busan with a delightful selection of hotteok (sweet Korean pancakes) and odeng (fish cake). Experience the authentic taste of these traditional treats right here, and let your taste buds embark on a culinary journey that captures the essence of Busan's culinary heritage.
2. Gwangandaegyo Bridge (Pass By)
- Gwangan Bridge, also known as the Diamond Bridge, is an iconic landmark in Busan, South Korea. The bridge spans 7.4 kilometers across the Gwangalli Beach and is particularly stunning at night when it is illuminated by thousands of colorful LED lights, creating a spectacular light show.
3. Huinnyeoul Culture Village
- This village is situated on a coastal cliff near Busan Port. It was formed in the 1950s and 60s when refugees settled in the area following the Korean War. Originally a poor fishing village, in recent years it has transformed into a cultural and artistic community as artists and young creators have started to flock to the area.
4. Jagalchi Fish Market
This market originated from women who fled after the Korean War and began selling fish here. It has since grown to become the largest and most famous seafood market of its kind. Now, thanks to its size, variety of seafood, and cleanliness, it has become a representative fish market in Korea. There is a famous slogan in this market, which in the Busan dialect is 'Oiso (come), Boiso (see), and Saiso (buy)'.
5. Gukje Market
This market is one of the largest in Asia, a place where a variety of items coexist, ranging from fashionable clothing for men and women to food, souvenirs, electrical appliances, and cosmetics. After Korea's liberation from Japan, it became a trading spot for goods left by the Japanese, items brought by Koreans from abroad, and American products traded during and after the Korean War. This diverse mix of goods from different origins led to the market being aptly renamed as the 'International Market'. It's not just a shopping hub, but a living reflection of Korea's cultural and economic journey.
6. BIFF Square
- This is not just a movie enthusiast's paradise, it's a vibrant hub where the allure of cinema and the excitement of urban exploration blend seamlessly. Imagine wandering through lively streets, where every step brings you closer to the illustrious handprints of renowned movie stars and directors.
