Rooi-Els, Bettys Bay, Stony Point day trip from Cape Town

Your full day guided small group (max 4) safari to the town of Rooi-Els as well as the beautiful botanical gardens of Harold Porter in Bettys Bay and Stony point to visit a penguin breeding colony.
Arrival and Transfer
• Collection from Cape Town International Airport or your hotel in Cape Town.
• Luxury 4x4 SUV transport to our first stop at Rooi-Els, a quiet town on the breathtaking Clarence drive, for some coffee and a chance to see the endemic Cape Rockjumper birds, the beautiful but elusive Ground Woodpeckers and other endemic species such as the Orange-breasted sunbirds (approximately 1 hour). A short but easy 1 hour hike between the Fynbos and a chance to see the Cape Floral Kingdom, A UNESCO world heritage site and the smallest of the 6 floral kingdoms of the world.
• We continue to our next destination just a short drive to Harold Porter Botanical Gardens which is part of the South African National Biodiversity Institute. A 1 hour guided tour around the gardens to learn more about Fynbos, local birds, South African natural and cultural history. See how the indigenous people of South Africa, the San and the Khoi people used plants for medicinal and other uses. A chance to see more endemic birds such as the olive woodpecker, African hoopoe and more than 96 other species recorded. A biodiversity hotspot not to be missed.
• After the tour guests can enjoy lunch in the beautiful garden restaurant at their own expense.
• After lunch we visit Stony Point Nature Reserve to see the African Penguin Colony.
• Return to Cape Town hotel
