Enjoy a guided tour aboard the iconic St. Kitts Scenic Railway in Basseterre with a transfer from the cruise ship port. See the island from the comfort of modern train cars and sightseeing buses.
Disembark from your cruise ship and get picked up right at the port to head to the railway station. Climb aboard the renowned St. Kitts Scenic Railway, originally built between 1912 and 1926 to deliver sugar cane from the fields to the sugar mill in Basseterre.

Enjoy sugar cake (a local delicacy), fruit punch, and daiquiris as you take in the local landscapes. Travel along the northeastern coastline of the island to come across spectacular vistas of the ocean, surf, cliffs, and lush vegetation surrounding you.

Cross tall steel bridges spanning deep canyons and make your way through small villages and farms. See dark green rainforests skirted by rippling fields of sugar cane, with the volcanic cone of Mt. Liamuiga rising above the railway.

Allow your guide to point out all the sights as the train passes old sugar cane estates with abandoned windmills and chimneys. Admire St. Paul's Village, home of St. Kitts's first national hero Sir. Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw.

Discover Brimstone Hill Fortress and Old Road Town, where Sir Thomas Warner, founder of the English colony on St. Kitts is buried. Switch to a spacious bus to complete a full circle around the island before driving back to the port.

The train operates based on the cruise ship schedule
The 18 miles by rail and 12 miles by bus make a complete 30-mile circle around the island. The journey takes approximately 2 hours by rail and 45 minutes by bus. Keep in mind that the tour may operate in reverse, with the bus ride first, followed by the railway tour
Additional transfer rates are subject to change per Government Regulation
Arrive 30 minutes prior to departure. Upon arrival, walk directly from the cruise ship into the terminal building with the arches. Exit the terminal building to the right side (east) and wait outside of the MaPau Casino. Look for the staff member holding a Scenic Escape St. Kitts sign. Find them wearing a red, gold, or green polo shirt.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
