Embark on a 3-day tour of Nyungwe National Park and discover the park's diverse wildlife. Trek through the rainforest in search of chimpanzees, take a canopy walk, and visit the ancient King’s palace at Nyanza.
Day 1: Kigali to Nyungwe National Park
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up by a representative from the tour company who will be your driver guide and embark on your transfer to Nyungwe forest with lunch en-route.
Stop at some genocide memorials and proceed to the park. Upon arrival, check-in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk
After an early morning breakfast, you will be taken to the park offices for the briefing about the does and don’ts during the tracking of the primates. Proceed into the tropical rainforest searching for the shy chimpanzees in the tree branches.
While on this walk, expect to spot other primates like the white and black Columbus, Vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and manageably. More birds can be spotted too in the Nyungwe National Park. Spend a maximum of an hour with these chimpanzees once spotted and then return to the lodge for lunch.
In the evening, take the canopy walk looking for primates, birds, and the clear of the green canopy cover. Enjoy dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 3: Nyungwe National Park to Kigali
After a relaxed breakfast, embark on your transfer back to Kigali with lunch en route and a stopover to visit the ancient King’s palace at Nyanza.
Later, meet a local women’s drumming group to hear about their history and proceed to Kigali. Be dropped off at the airport or at your hotel depending on your program.
