Description

This 4-day Rwanda chimps trek will take you Nyungwe National to visit the chimps and experience the canopy walk and the Gisakura tea plantation. You will also visit the Kings' palace in Nyanza.
Day 1: Pick up from International airport and transfer to your hotel

Upon your arrival at Kigali international airport, you will meet our hospitable drive guide who will brief you about the today activities. After briefing, if you come in the morning, you will have Kigali city tour and visit the memorial genocide before you go to retire at your hotel.
Overnight: Lebanon Hotel

Day 2: Canopy walkway in Nyungwe

After breakfast, start walking in the bottom of the dark and rain forest under the old and giant trees, the flying monkeys, paradise birds and start the challenge of the day: after some 25 minutes walking in the forest, you will be challenged by stepping on the 200 m extended on two hills bridge. Above the forest at 70 m, on a shaking bridge, this will be the time to test your balance resilience. From there you will have an incredible endless view of the Lake Kivu and the green forest which makes this trip very photogenic.

Overnight: Chimpanzee lodge.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trek and Tea plantation walk.
After an early breakfast, we will go to check in at Uwinka reception before you start trekking in the rainforest, which has remained undisturbed in Rwanda. The chimps are our cousins that share about 80% of our DNA. You will remain with them 1hour taking photos for your memories. The trek will take up to 2 hours depending on the location of the chimps trekked and then return to your hotel.
After, have your lunch at your hotel and then later in the afternoon go to experience the Nyungwe tea plantation.

Overnight: Chimpanzee lodge

Day 4: Butare ethnographic museum, King palace museum and transfer back to Kigali to fly back to your home
After your breakfast, you will drive back Kigali. On your way, we will visit the Butare ethnographic museum and king palace museum to learn about Rwandan culture before you continue your way to Kigali and get transferred to Kigali the international airport for your night flight.

Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
