Discover the beauty of the Isle of Skye on a day trip from Inverness. Choose from two routes to the island, visit the Cuillin at Sligachan, and see the Quiraing and the Old Man of Storr. Stop at Portree, the capital of Skye, and the Skye Museum of Island Life.

Choose from two routes to the island, either over the Skye Bridge or via the historic turntable ferry at Glenelg. If you go via the bridge, include a visit to Eilean Donan Castle. Alternatively, drive over Man Ratagan (a spectacular pass) and cross to Skye via the ferry at Glenelg.

Stop at Sligachan at the foot of the Cuillin, the mountains of Skye. Take an optional, short walk to Allt Daraich – the oak burn. The historic Sligachan Hotel also offers food and drink including local beers and Talisker whisky.

Arrive in Portree, a bustling town with a beautiful bay, pubs and restaurants, and good chip shops. Buy gifts and walk around the town. Visit the Skye Museum of Island Life to learn about life on Skye in days gone by.

As you travel up Iochdar Thròndairnis, the Trotternish peninsula, see across the Minch to Uist, Harris, and Lewis. The peninsula offers fulfilling walks, the Gaelic language, two museums, and quirky places to eat. See the landscape features of The Quiraing, Kilt Rock, and the Old Man of Storr.

On the return journey to Inverness, we can take a different route if you desire. Return via Glen Shiel and Loch Ness or take the more northerly route that takes in Loch Carron, Achnasheen, and arrives in Inverness over the Kessock Bridge.

When we drop you at your accommodation or place of choice, you will have many memories and plenty of great pictures from your memorable day in Skye.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
