Description

Explore Cawdor Castle and it's beautiful gardens. Wander in Inverness, visit Loch Ness and see Glen Ord Whisky Distillery on this Invergordon Shore Excursion
Departing from Invergordon, first you'll travel to Cawdor Castle. Set amid beautiful gardens in Nairnshire, Cawdor Castle is the ancestral home of the Campbells and dates back to the 15th Century. Spend time here exploring the castle and its picturesque surroundings.

Journey on to Inverness, capital of the Scottish Highlands. Spend over an hour here, with plenty of time to enjoy lunch and walk along the banks of the River Ness. Hopefully, you'll also get some good views of Inverness Castle.

From Inverness, your Invergordon shore excursion continues on to Loch Ness for a quick photo and refreshment break, allowing the opportunity for a quick bit of Nessie Hunting!

Then, travel to Beauly, a small Highland town situated on the scenic River Beauly. Beauly gets its name from the French beau lieu, meaning “beautiful place”. It is believed that this came from a comment from Mary Queen of Scots when she visited the town in 1564. Pause here for photos before the shore excursion moves on to the last stop of the day, Glen Ord Distillery.

Glen Ord is the only remaining single malt whisky distillery situated in the Black Isle and is the home of Singleton Whisky. Enjoy a tour of the distillery, finishing off the Invergordon Shore Excursion with a tasting of the Singleton of Glen Ord 12-year-old whisky.

Finally, you'll return to Invergordon, where your Inverness, Cawdor Castle and Highland Whisky shore excursion comes to an ends.
