Day 1, Saturday, Bucharest
Visit Snagov Monastery, where, according to the legend, Vlad the Impaler was allegedly buried. Enjoy a delicious welcome dinner and accommodate in a 4* hotel.
Day 2, Sunday, Bucharest – Poienari - Sibiu
Drive to Poienari and visit the ruins of Dracula’s old fortress. You will have to climb over 1400 stairs to reach the top. Next, explore the Medieval Saxon City of Sibiu, the European Cultural Capital for 2007, known for containing the largest concentration of tourist attractions in Romania. Accommodation is in a cosy 4* hotel.
Day 3, Monday, Sibiu - Hunedoara - Alba Iulia - Turda
Explore Corvinesti, a stunning castle built in the 14th Century, best known for serving as the residence of rules Iancu de Hunedoara. Stay at a 4* hotel in Turda and have a vampire-themed dinner. Attend the Ritual of Killing of The Living Dead.
Day 4, Tuesday, Turda - Cluj-Napoca - Bistrita
Descend into the Salt Mines of Turda and discover impressive halls named after kings and queens. Visit Cluj Napoca. Enjoy a city tour and discover medieval buildings such as the St. Andrew's Cathedral. Follow Jonathan Harker’s route to Bistrita, close to Borgo Pass. Stay at the Golden Crown hotel.
Day 5, Wednesday, Bistrita Citadel - Sighisoara
Discover Sighisoara Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Clock Tower Museum, the Church on the Hill or the unique Covered Stairs. Optionally, have lunch in a restaurant located where Vlad the Impaler’s birth house used to stand. Accommodate in a 3* hotel located in the heart of the citadel.
Day 6, Thursday, Sighisoara - Bran - Brasov
Explore Transylvania's symbol, Bran Castle, the inspiration for Dracula's Castle in Bram Stoker's novel. Documentary evidence of the castle dates as far back as 1377. Your next stop is the Medieval Saxon City of Brasov. The most famous landmark is the Black Church, the largest Gothic edifice in South-Eastern Europe. Your day ends at a 3* hotel, centrally located.
Day 7, Friday, Brasov - Sinaia - Targoviste - Bucharest
Travel to Sinaia, the pearl of Romanian mountain resorts. Explore the impressive Peleş Castle, built in 1873 as the summer residence of the Royal Family. Peleș is one of the best preserved Royal residencies in Europe. Next, visit Targoviste, the former capital of Walachia and the site of Vlad the Impaler's old court. Arrive in Bucharest at about 7:00 pm (based on normal traffic conditions).
