This tour is the perfect way to visit one of the largest and most cherished cities of Romania. Being surrounded by the mountains (the perfect place for a medieval settlement) Brasov is one of the best preserved cities in Europe. Brasov provides a mix of wonderful mountain scenery in the nearby Poiana Braşov and medieval history with German influences in the old town. Peles Castle (the summer Royal residence), Rasnov Fortress and Bran (Dracula"s) Castle are other interesting locations that you will have the chance to visit by taking this tour.

Day 1:

Departure at 08:00 from Bucharest to Sinaia, also known as "The Pearl of the Carpathians". This is a beautiful mountain resort located in the Carpathian mountains at 800 meters altitude. Here you will visit  Sinaia Monastery (with the old and the new church) and Peles Castle, built by the first King of Romania, Carol I, to be a summer Royal residence. The castle has an impressive architectural style and built to be a very modern construction (for that time) being the first castle in Europe having electric power. From Sinaia, head to Brasov, an old medieval citadel, first documented in 1235, the most important commercial center from all the seven German Medieval Cities of Transylvania (Siebenbuergen). Visit the Old Town (the historical center) with Black Church, followed by dinner & accommodation.

Day 2:

After breakfast, visit the Cantacuzino Castle located in Busteni in Prahova Valley. The castle was built in a neo-Romanian style and inaugurated in 1911 at the wish of Prince Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino. A park surrounds the castle with alleys taking you to the grotto, cascades, and fountains to be explored. The visit will be followed by lunch and visit to Bran (Dracula’s Castle). The medieval Castle Bran was built for military purposes in the end of the 14th century to defend the border between Transylvania and Wallachia, being associate with the “Legend of Dracula” the novel  by Bram Stoker. In the end of the day, return to Bucharest.

• Please note that Peles Castle is closed on Monday and Tuesday in February and March 2020. On these days, Cantacuzino Castle in Busteni will be visited instead
• During the rest of the year, Peles Castle is only closed on Mondays

Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 48 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 48 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
