From Brasov: Day Trip to Sighisoara & Viscri

Wander around Transylvania and discover its Saxon roots during a full-day trip from Brasov. You will explore the medieval villages of Viscri and Biertan, and their fortified churches. Visit the impressive Sighisoara Citadel, the Rupea Fortress and Brasov.
The first destination of the day wil be Viscri, one of Transylvania’s famous Saxon villages, where you will visit the Viscri Fortified Church. Prince Charles is one of the personalities that fell in love with Viscri and described it as a passage through time. You will then head to Sighisoara, a city which is home to one of the few inhabited medieval citadels in Europe, where you will visit the Clock Tower.

Next, you will visit Biertan, a village that was mentioned for the first time in official documents in 1224. Today, the settlement is known worldwide due to its fortified church restored with funds raised by former inhabitants of the village which are now spread all over the world. You will then enjoy a delicious lunch in a medieval restaurant.

Before heading back to Brasov, you will stop at Rumidava, a former Dacian settlement, where you will visit the Rupea Citadel. Your tour will come to an end in Brasov, where you will take a tour of the city center and discover the history of the Black Church.
