Explore one of the wonders of Puno with an excursion to the Uros and Taquile Islands on Lake Titicaca, explore the floating islands of the lake and learn more about the life of the people who live on the islands of the highest lake in the world. Start the tour with pickup at your hotel in Puno or at the Puno bus station, and head to the pier or main port. Departure begins at 07:30 and travels to the floating islands of the Uros, currently considered the National Reserve of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. Learn about the Uros people, who still maintain their own culture and tradition, as well as about artisanal fishing, especially of carachi and pejerrey. See some of the 75 islands that are currently inhabited. Sail by boat for 2 and a half hours, to the natural island of Taquile, during the navigation you can see the mountain range. Find out more about the people of Taquile and their famous textiles. Enjoy approximately 2 hours for the visit, a delicious 1-hour typical meal in front of the lake, before returning to the bus station or your accommodation.
