North of the city of Puno are ancient mausoleums belonging to the pre-Inca and Inca culture, important archeology for Sillustani, a sacred place.
The Chullpas of Sillustani are located north of Puno, on the esplanade of a peninsula, where you can see impressive constructions of tombs, many of these with a height of up to 12 meters, shaped like an inverted cone, these tombs were for the bodies of the highest authorities Kolla, being the most representative of the Inca empire.
Itinerary
- We start the tour, picking you up from the hotel at 2:00 p.m. approximately.
- We will travel 40 minutes approximately, and we will arrive at a viewpoint to observe the city of Puno.
- Arriving at Sillustani, we will take a walk to also observe the Waruwaru, hydraulic systems of pre-Hispanic cultivation fields.
- We will observe the flora and fauna of the place and the Umayo Lake.
- On our return we will have a stop at a local house to learn how the local people live and their habits.
