Description

Travel from Cusco with the Route of the Sun to Titicaca lake and enjoy the history and culture of this region at each stop, especially on the impressive islands of Uros and Taquile.
Day 1: trip Cusco - Puno through the Route of the sun
For this adventure you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco at 6:30 hrs. to be transferred to the bus station from where the trip to the city of Puno will begin. During the route, several stops will be made to see different archaeological monuments until reaching Puno accompanied by the guide.
The first stop will be at the Sistine Chapel of Andahuaylillas, which dates back to the 17th century, also known as the Sistine of the Andes for the beauty of its murals and the Cusco paintings that it houses inside.
Then you will visit the Raqchi Archaeological Complex, also known as the Temple of the god Wiracocha, who was the supreme Inca deity.
At noon, you will have a buffet lunch in a tourist restaurant that consists of a wide range of national and regional food. Later, you will arrive at Paso de la Raya, which is the border between the cities of Cusco and Puno where the famous Nevado de Chimboya is located, where you will have the opportunity to take photographs of the landscape, the visit will last 7 to 10 minutes.
The next stop will be the Lithical Museum of Pucará, it was a culture that developed in the 1,600s BC. until 400 AD. During your visit to the museum you will be able to find ceramics and sculptures that represent zoomorphic figures, among them the famous sculpture of Hatun Aqac, which in our times would be translated as the supreme cutthroat.
Finally we will arrive in the city of Puno at approximately 5:00 p.m.

Day 2: visit to Titicaca lake, Uros and Taquile islands
To begin the tour you will be picked up from the bus station or hotel in Puno (06:30 am), and then transferred to the port of Puno where Lake Titicaca is located, the highest navigable lake in the world. At this point you will board a boat to first visit the Floating Island of Los Uros which are made of reeds, here the guide will give an explanation about the history of the island and its economic system, and will also appreciate the customs of this island and its crafts.
Then you will go by water transport to the Island of Taquile, which has great landscape, ethnic, cultural and archaeological value; Here you can also observe the customs of the population that remain intact even over the years. The men of this island stand out for carrying out the textile activity, which they do with such perfection that they are even impervious to water and have been knowledge that has been transmitted from generation to generation. Later you can enjoy a typical lunch of the area (not included). At the end of the excursion you will return to the port of the city of Puno (4:00 p.m.).
