From Puno: Explore the Ruta del Sol Puno - Cusco Route

Travel the fascinating Ruta del Sol from Puno to Cusco and discover the wonders of southern Peru such as Andahuaylillas, Raqchi and Pukara, an unforgettable experience!
Our meeting point will be Jiron de Tacna number 575.
From this point, we will depart to the city of Pukara. There we will explore the interpretation center of Pukara, where we will unveil the legacy of the ancient Andean settlers. Do not miss the iconic Pukara bulls, clay figures decorated in different colors, representing protection, prosperity and fertility in southern Peru.

Then, we will continue to La Raya pass, where we will make a brief stop to capture photos of this impressive mountain pass located more than 4300 meters above sea level.

After our photo stop at La Raya, we will enjoy a buffet lunch at a local restaurant. With renewed energy, we will head to the archaeological site of Raqchi, where we will explore the remains of the ancient temple dedicated to the god Wiracocha, a deity shrouded in mystery and legends from pre-Hispanic times.

After the guided visit in Raqchi, we will proceed to the picturesque village of Andahuaylillas to admire the church of San Pedro Apostle, known as the Sistine Chapel of America. The magnificence of its interior will make you judge if the title is deserved.

After a day full of discoveries and astonishing wonders, we will culminate our journey along the Ruta del Sol. After eleven intense hours of exploring, hiking and immersing yourself in the rich history and culture of the region, we will leave you at the point of arrival, satisfied and full of unforgettable memories. This journey will not only have been a journey through the dazzling landscapes and historical monuments of southern Peru, but also an immersion into the very essence of Andean grandeur.
