Description
Learn about its impressive mountain scenery, pre-Inca agricultural terraces and the possibility of observing condors, the largest birds of prey in the world.
02:30 - 03:00 AM: We will begin the 1-day ADVENTURE TOUR IN COLCA with the pick-up of passengers from their hotels in Arequipa. We will head towards Yura and then directly to Cruz del Cóndor, with a brief stop only for breakfast.
Around 08:30 AM: We will arrive at Cruz del Cóndor, where we will admire breathtaking views of Colca Canyon, one of the deepest in the world and home to the majestic condor. On the way back, we will make stops at the picturesque villages of Pinchollo, Maca, and Yanque, known for their charming colonial churches. We will also visit the Antahuilque and Choquetico Lookouts to observe pre-Inca tombs and models, as well as the impressive terraced fields of Colca. You will have the chance to see traditional costumes, domesticated camelids and birds, and try traditional drinks like the Colca Sour made in Sancayo.
11:30 AM: We will continue to the Chacapi thermal baths, where you can relax in natural pools with scenic views.
12:30 PM: After an hour, we will have lunch in Chivay and then board our tourist transport to Puno.
01:30 PM: On the return journey, we will stop at the volcano viewpoint, the highest point at 4,910 meters above sea level, and at Tocrapampa wetlands where you can observe a variety of wild birds, herds of alpacas and llamas. At Pampa Cañahuas, part of the Aguada Blanca and Salinas National Reserve, we will see herds of vicuñas, the elegant South American camelid with some of the finest fibers in the world, and high Andean lagoons near Puno.
Approximately 07:00 PM: Arrival in Puno.
