Description
Do you want to live the experience of sleeping on the floating island of the Uros? Enter the famous Lake Titicaca and learn about one of the oldest cultures in South America.
Day 1: Puno – Uros Island
We will pick you up at the meeting point in Puno at the agreed time and head to the port, where we will board a small boat that will take us directly to the famous floating island of Uros.
After approximately 30 minutes of travel, we will arrive at this artificial archipelago, made up of 40 reed islands (a type of reed that grows in this region).
The local inhabitants will welcome us and explain the details of the reeds and the constructions made with this material, thus getting to know their way of life.
We will enjoy a meal to regain strength and we will go on a raft made of reeds to practice traditional fishing. We will set the fishing nets, we will learn about the process of cutting the reeds and we will learn about the great diversity that lives in Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world.
We will return to the Island to taste the delicious dinner that awaits us. We will rest and sleep on the floating island. An unforgettable experience!
Day 2: Uros Island – Puno
On our second day on Uros Island we will have to get up early to go pick up the fishing net that we put up the day before. Once we have collected our catch, we will return to have breakfast on the island.
Finally, we will return to the boat and we will be back in Puno around 10:00.
