Description

Embark on an unforgettable tour of the Tambopata National Reserve in the heart of the Amazon. Immerse yourself in lush landscapes, with thick forests, huge rivers, a variety of birds, mammals
Day 1: Pick up will be at the coordinated meeting point. At 9 am you will be transferred to the port where you will take a 50-minute boat ride along the Madre de Dios River until you reach the lodge. We will check into our rooms (single, double and triple options) and you will have free time to relax in the hammocks or in the pool before participating in the first activity, which will be after lunch.

After lunch we will have the opportunity to go fishing in the river, where you can catch many piranhas for dinner! This will be followed by a night tour of the river where we will look for alligators and a night walk along a trail where you can see all the wildlife that comes to life during the night.

Then we will return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 2: Today we will spend the entire day exploring Lake Sandoval, located in the Tambopata National Reserve. It is the best way to see nature in its natural habitat, including macaws, parrots, other bird species, monkeys, otters and alligators, just to name a few.

We will also have the opportunity to learn about different species of plants, many of which are used as natural medicines.

Lunch on this day will be served at the Amasisa Lodge, which is located within the Tambopata National Reserve, on Lake Sandoval. We will have dinner back at our hostel (Madre de Dios).

Day 3: Today we will visit the “Parrot Clay Lick”, a clay wall next to the river where multiple species of parrots come every morning to complement their diet with the minerals they find here.

Activity at parrot clay licks usually begins shortly before dawn, when the first parrots approach the clay lick area, usually in pairs while calling to each other, and then land in the trees around the clay lick.

It is understood that they perch on the highest branches waiting for the rest of the parrots to look for predators in the area. This creates a natural spectacle of sounds and colors that bird and nature lovers won't want to miss.

Then we will return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch we will head along a botanical trail to an organic farm

Dinner will be served at the lodge.

Day 4: Today's activity will begin early at 5.30 am where we will participate in a canopy walk, which will allow us to see the rainforest from a different perspective at about 30 meters above ground level.

After breakfast, get ready for a fun and challenging activity, located 30 meters above the ground among the trees! That's right, we're going zip lining!

In the afternoon we will visit Monkey Island located in the Madre de Dios River.

We will then return to the hostel where you will take your transportation back to Puerto Maldonado, arriving between 4:30 pm and 5 pm.
