Travel through the Amazon rainforest on a 4-day, 3-night adventure in the Tambopata National Reserve, where you will see exotic species of plants and animals, navigate by canoe and kayak, and experience this lush landscape on a journey into the past.
Day 1:
- Your journey begins with a transfer to the airport. Feel the excitement as you are driven to your hotel on the banks of the Tambopata River, 4.5 kilometers from town.
- After orientation, your jungle walk begins. Keep an eye out for monkeys, birds, butterflies and other species. Learn about the importance of the area to the local inhabitants.
Day 2:
- Take a 3 km excursion to Lake Sandoval, in the Tambopata National Reserve.
- We will canoe on the lake and learn about the ecosystem. If you are lucky, you will see monkeys, squirrels, lizards, black caimans, birds, giant otters and possibly one of the largest aquatic fish, the Paish fish.
- We will explore the jungle at night in search of tarantulas, frogs and chirping insects.
Day 3:
- We will visit Monkey Island, where you will feel an adrenaline rush Walk the high canopy bridges and zip lines. Kayak down the river and climb the walls.
Day 4:
- Admire the beautiful Lake Yacumama, where you're almost certain to catch piranhas and observe macaw and stork hatchlings.
