Itinerary
We will pick you up at your hotel in Puerto Maldonado at 3:00 am. From there we will depart to the Tambopata River, a journey of about two hours by road. Once on the river, we will board a boat to enter the heart of the Tambopata National Reserve.

We will skirt the tranquil riverbed as we watch the sun begin to rise over Puerto Maldonado, a postcard sunrise! We will arrive at El Chuncho clay lick and it will be enough to wait a few minutes to see the parrots arrive at the clay wall with the first light of dawn.

For an hour we will observe these colorful birds feeding on the clay of the clay lick. In addition, the sighting will allow us to get up close to small macaws that come and go in search of their ration of clay.

After the excursion to the parrot and macaw clay lick, we will head towards a lodge in the reserve, crossing a trail where, if we are lucky, we will be able to greet the most popular inhabitants of the area: the sloths! In addition, we will probably encounter other mammals such as capybaras, tapirs or deer.

Once at the hacienda, we will replenish our strength with a delicious lunch. Afterwards, we will take a short walk in the surrounding area, and finally we will make our way back to Puerto Maldonado. We will drop you off at your hotel around 3:00 pm.
