"Discover Tambopata with hiking, sunsets and adventure sports guided by locals. We promote sustainable tourism in our cabins by the Sandoval Lake."
1 DAY: "SANDOVAL LAKE EXPLORATION
Departure by boat from our office for 40 minutes on the Madre de Dios River to the Tambopata National Reserve. 3 km (1 hour) hike to Sandoval Lake, observing monkeys, snakes, tarantulas, tropical birds and parrots. Canoe to explore the lake and watch birds, herons, caimans and giant otters. Typical lunch in our cabins followed by introduction to the lodge. Afternoon of more exploration by canoe with the option of swimming and spectacular sunset on the lake with caiman spotting.

2ND DAY: "WILDLIFE ENCOUNTER
Search for macaws in the parrot clay lick from 5 am, unique in Madre de Dios. Breakfast, search for giant otters and ascent to the observation tower of 30 meters. Optional: piranha fishing and more exploration. Lunch and return to Madre de Dios River by boat at 4:00 pm, then transfer to the lodge in the same area."
3DAY: VISIT TO THE TAMBOPATA RIVER: A NEW MAGICAL DESTINATION IN TOURISM
We have breakfast near the Tambopata River in one of our local family-run lodges and start our activities.
- We cross a hanging bridge.
- We experience the thrill of the zip line.
- We have lunch at 1 pm and have a short break with the option to swim in the Tambopata River. Later, we navigate by boat to enjoy a unique sunset from the water, using flashlights to spot capybaras, white caimans and riverine birds.
- We have a 90% chance of seeing capybaras, the largest rodent in the world.
- We have dinner and then continue with the night activity, where, if we have energy, we will take a night walk to observe spiders, tarantulas, frogs, toads, nocturnal animals, night monkeys and snakes.
4DAY: CANDAMO TAMBOPATA
Enjoy an American breakfast followed by an interpretative walk through ancient trees and medicinal plants, with a visit to the regional fruit sector. Experience the newest activity in Tambopata: sport fishing for piranhas in the Yacumama Lake, without affecting its ecosystem abundant in flora and fauna, ideal for spotting small macaws, parrots and parakeets in flocks of up to 200 individuals.
The trip by car from the main square takes 25 minutes, where a community member welcomes us. Equipped with ecological rods and bait, we walk 7 minutes to a canoe for up to 7 passengers. At the entrance of Lake Yacumama, we are occasionally greeted by a black caiman, known for its calm nature and possibility to approach for photographs.
ACTIVITIES:
- Piranha fishing
- Observation of macaws and parrots in their natural habitat.
- Tropical bird watching
- Observation of black caimans
5DAY: Enjoy the sunrise in the Amazon and then return to Puerto Maldonado. After a nutritious breakfast with organic ingredients, our team will thank you for visiting this part of the Amazon. You will return by outboard motor canoe to Puerto Maldonado, where you can relax and wait for your bus to your next destination.
