Day 1: Start your journey from Cusco in a comfortable bus towards the Amazon Jungle. Pass through scenic Andean landscapes and small villages, stopping in the folkloric town of Paucartambo to explore its charming streets and vibrant traditions. Visit the Pre-Inca funeral towers of Ninamarca, then descend into the lush cloud forest. Here, a refreshing hike offers a chance to encounter exotic orchids and wildlife, such as the colorful Cock of the Rock, playful monkeys, and possibly the elusive Spectacled Bear. As the sun sets, arrive at Bambu Lodge, nestled at the forest's edge, where you'll enjoy comfortable private rooms with showers and toilets.

Day 2: Begin with breakfast at Bambu Lodge, then take a bus to the port of Atalaya. Board a motorized boat for a 45-minute ride along the Alto Madre de Dios River, soaking in views of the lush rainforest. Arrive at Soga de Oro Lodge, with mosquito-netted rooms and essential amenities. Embark on a guided jungle exploration in the afternoon, learning about diverse flora and fauna, medicinal plants, and traditional knowledge from native communities. Return to the lodge for a peaceful evening in the rainforest.

Day 3: Start with an early morning trek through the dense rainforest around Soga de Oro Lodge. Discover giant trees, colorful orchids, and medicinal plants, and with luck, encounter larger mammals like tapirs. In the afternoon, cross the river and take a short walk to Machuwasi Lake, a serene spot perfect for wildlife observation, including capybaras, caimans, and various bird species. As night falls, embark on a thrilling nocturnal adventure to spot frogs, toads, insects, bats, and possibly snakes. Return to the lodge after your night exploration.

Day 4: Board a boat for a 20-minute ride to the vibrant parrot lick, where you'll witness a stunning display of colorful parrots, including green parrots, blue-headed parrots, mealy parrots, and chestnut-fronted macaws. Return to Soga de Oro Lodge for breakfast, then pack your belongings for the journey back. The boat takes you downriver to the port of Atalaya, where your bus will be ready to transport you back to Cusco. Reflect on the incredible sights and experiences of the past four days as you drive through the cloud forest and Andean valleys, arriving in Cusco by late afternoon.
