1 DAY|| Journey of the Monkeys Day of the Monkeys

Departure from our office to our lodge to begin the adventure with a 35 minute boat ride on the Madre de Dios River. Presentation of the lodge and rooms with private bathroom. Enjoy a typical lunch, with vegetarian or vegan options available.

Activities: Visit to the Monkey House.
- Visit to the Monkey House to interact and feed 4 different species of monkeys with fruits and vegetables.
- Conducting a night walk with flashlight in our primary and secondary forest, where we will look for insects and nocturnal animals such as sloths, tarantulas, spiders, frogs, giant toads, scorpions and possibly snakes, as they are active during the night.
- Return to the lodge for dinner after the night activity.

2 DAY || SANDOVAL LAKE ROAD
We will head quickly to the port of Lake Sandoval by boat, a 30 minute ride, followed by a 3 kilometer hike that will take about an hour. Our trail is well maintained and connects to a bridge that will take us to the lake, where we can observe:
- Up to four species of monkeys
- Snakes
- Tarantulas
- Tropical birds and parrots
- Various mammals
At the end of the hike, a canoe will be waiting to take us back to our cabins to explore Sandoval Lake. We will explore the right bank in search of wildlife, such as tropical birds on the shore, herons, caimans and the imposing 2 meter long giant otter, symbol of the department of Madre de Dios.
After arriving at our lodge, we will enjoy lunch and be assigned our rooms. After a short rest, we will take a boat to observe the sunset in the Amazon jungle, accompanied by monkeys and bats. We will return to the lodge and then go out in search of caimans in a boat.
Finally, we will return to the lodge for dinner and rest.

3 DAY|| THE TAMBOPATA SUNRISE
In the morning, you will have the opportunity to witness the sunrise over the Madre de Dios River in the Amazon. Afterwards, you will enjoy a last nutritious breakfast prepared with organic ingredients from our pantry before departing.
Your guide and staff will bid you farewell and thank you for your visit to this region of the Amazon. You will return to Puerto Maldonado in an outboard motor canoe. Depending on your departure time, you will be able to relax and wait comfortably for your bus back home or your next destination.

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
