Description

Explore trails, observe flora/fauna, zipline and canopy walks in Tambopata, guided by local experts.
FIRST DAY:
Welcome to our Tambopata expedition. You will arrive in Puerto Maldonado, then travel 2 hours by bus and 30 minutes by boat to our eco-lodge, Collpas Tambopata Inn. Here you will be greeted with a local drink and a brief welcome talk. The lodge, surrounded by monkeys and birds, offers spacious rooms from 24 m² to 68 m² suites with private bathrooms and jungle views. The stay includes three meals a day, guided excursions, and transfers to and from the airport. Our local guides accompany small groups for personalized attention. In the afternoon, you can enjoy a guided hike in the primary forest, learn about medicinal plants and get acquainted with local activities. You will visit our 50-meter canopy tower for breathtaking views of the Amazon basin. Optionally, you can take an exciting night boat ride to observe black caimans in their natural habitat.
SECOND DAY:
Visiting the Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick is an exceptional macaw and parrot watching experience. On clear mornings, large macaws and hundreds of parrots gather on this riverbank, offering a colorful and noisy spectacle, even featured in National Geographic. We will be discreetly located fifty meters from the cliff to observe green, scarlet, blue and gold-winged macaws, as well as several species of parrots, feeding on clay. Departures are at dawn, the most active time of the clay lick. This experience marks the end of our expedition. Your visit directly supports Wired Amazon and the Tambopata National Reserve. Afterwards, you will return to the city to catch your domestic flight from the airport or bus station.
