Description
Enjoy a traditional equestrian spectacle in which you'll discover more about the special Paso breed, the best saddle horse in the world, with this Peruvian Horse Show.
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Lima at 9 am and head to Lurin Valley, about 15 minutes away. Here we'll visit the pre-Inca ruins built to the god Pachacamac, a sacred place for the ancient Andean people. We'll spend two hours touring this impressive citadel, getting to know the life of the Moche, Huai and Inca cultures.
The tour will also take us to the Acllawasi citadel, a sacred place where the virgins who were sacrificed as an offering to the sun, and the Taurichumpe Temple, the residence of the last administrator of the Pachacamac Sanctuary.
At approximately 12 pm we'll return to the bus and head to a typical hacienda to discover one of the most beautiful traditions of Peruvian culture. We'll admire the beautiful gardens that surround us and that will be the ideal scene of an equestrian spectacle without equal led by chalanes, the typical Peruvian horsemen dressed in a traditional poncho made of vicuna fibre and straw hat.
While we admire the curious flat gait of this breed we'll discover why their four-beat rhythm makes the Peruvian Paso horse the smoothest rider in the world. This has only been possible thanks to the crossbreeding over centuries of three horse breeds: the fieldón, the andaluz and the frisian.
During the exhibition, we'll discover everything about this internationally famous Peruvian breed and go through its different stages of preparation and care. In addition, we'll enjoy a fascinating marinera dance, the traditional dance of Peru, with the women on foot and the chalanes on the backs of Peruvian Paso horses.
Still amazed by the equestrian show, we'll taste local flavours with a lunch composed of some of the most representative Peruvian dishes.
After lunch, we'll return to Lima to drop you off at your hotel, to end the tour at 5 pm.
