Description

Embark on a journey to colonial Lima with a visit to the Casa de Aliaga, one of the oldest mansions, erected in the same year as the founding of the Peruvian capital.
Itinerary

We will meet at the Plaza del Peru, in front of the Casa de Aliaga, an architectural jewel and one of the oldest buildings in Lima.

We will explore the history of this mansion, built in 1535, the same year the city of Lima was founded. It was erected by Jerónimo de Aliaga, one of the conquerors of Peru and a member of Francisco Pizarro's group. The Aliaga House has been home to the Aliaga family for 17 generations and has witnessed key moments in Peruvian history, including its use as a refuge by important figures such as President Miguel Iglesias and several generals.

During the tour, we will discover luxurious salons decorated with Louis XVI style furniture, French carpets and Japanese vases. We will admire the tiled salon and dining room overlooking the courtyard and a 19th century English fountain. Don't miss the chapel, which was once adorned with silver plates stolen during the War of Independence.
