Day 1 | Cusco – Paucartambo – Cloud Forest – Pilcopata:
Your journey begins with a pickup from meet point, followed by a drive to Paucartambo in our private transport. En route, we'll pause at the Chullpas of Ninamarca, ancient burial towers situated at an altitude of 12,139 feet. After this visit, we'll proceed to Acjanaco, perched at 13,123 feet, marking the entrance to Manu National Park and the start of the Cloud Forest. As we descend through the forest, you'll have the opportunity to spot various mammals and birds, including the cock of the rocks and the quetzal. Our day concludes with an arrival at Pilcopata, where you'll be settled into a comfortable room. After dinner, we'll rest in preparation for the next day's adventures.
Day 2 | Pilcopata Lodge – Atalaya – Machuwasi Lake:
After breakfast, we'll take a bus to Atalaya, where a boat awaits to journey to Paititi Lodge, a half-hour trip showcasing the lush jungle landscape and riverbank wildlife. Upon arrival, savor a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, we'll explore Cocha Machuhuasi, a lagoon teeming with birds, alligators, and other creatures. A boat tour here offers an immersive view of the Amazonian landscape. In the evening, embark on a night walk to observe nocturnal animals. The day ends with dinner and a restful night at the hostel.
Day 3 | Lodge – Parrot Clay Lick – Cusco:
An early morning awaits as we wake you for a 45-minute journey to the Parrot Clay Lick. Here, you'll witness a unique spectacle of various birds, including macaws and parrots, feeding on nutrient-rich clay, accompanied by the vibrant sounds of the jungle. Following this experience, we'll return to the hostel for a final breakfast and to prepare your belongings. The trip concludes with a boat ride back to Atalaya, followed by a bus journey returning you to Cusco.
