Huchuy Qosqo Trek 3 days 2 nights is easily the shortest trek in Peru and best suited for those with limited time, but who would still like to do a bit of hiking before exploring Machu Picchu.
Day 1: Cusco – Tambomachay – Huchuy Qosqo
For the Huchuy Qosqo Trek 3 days 2 nights tour we will start with the pick up from the hotel in Cusco at 6:00 am and we will go in a tourist bus to the archaeological center of Tambomachay, traveling approximately 4 hours of walking we will be able to observe the Coricocha Lagoon instead where our lunch will be, Continuing our walk we will arrive at the archaeological center of Huchuy Qosqo where we will camp and spend the night.
Day 2: Huchuy Qosqo – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes
After an appetizing breakfast, we will have a guide in the archaeological center of Huchuy Qosqo located at 3,600 meters above sea level. After the visit we will continue with our walk that takes approximately 4 hours, then we will have time for lunch, to later descend walking towards the town from Lamay where our tourist transport will await us to go to the Ollantaytambo train station, where we will board the train to Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night in a hotel.
Day 3: Citadel of Machu Picchu
We will get up very early and we will go to the Inca Citadel of Machupicchu 2,400 meters above sea level, we will explore the ancient Inca city during the morning with our Guide, the guide will last approximately 2 hours.
After the guide you can climb the Huaynapicchu mountain, where you can get spectacular views of all of Machu Picchu, the valleys, mountains and river that surround it, or you can visit the Temple of the Moon and the fabulous Inca Bridge.
Then you will have some free time so you can explore the place and take pictures. In the afternoon, we will meet in the town of Aguas Calientes where we will take the return train to Ollantaytambo – Cusco.
