Description
Get out of Cusco for a day and visit the impressive circular Inca terraces of Moray and wander through the numerous crystallized salt mines of Maras that are still in use today.
You will leave Cusco by bus at 7:00 am, heading to Chinchero (Cruz pata), where you will stop to pick up your bikes and equipment. You will then cycle for about 2 hours and arrive at Moray, the ancient Inca agricultural laboratory located in a rare topographic depression that the Incas developed into unique circular terraces. You will learn how this entire area was also watered by a well-designed irrigation system.
Next, get back on your bike and cycle to the salt flats in the colonial town of Maras, where you will be able to see the process of harvesting salt and precious minerals from the Inca era. Later, your car will take you back to Cusco at 5:00 pm.
