On day 1, be picked up from your hotel in Cusco and take a 2-hour bus ride to the Ollantaytambo train station. Board the train and embark on a 1.5-hour trip entering the Andes mountain range and crossing a landscape that will be difficult to forget.
When you arrive at the town of Aguas Calientes, be taken to the hotel where you will stay that night. The rest of the afternoon is free to walk around this hidden place.
On day 2, after breakfast at the hotel, board a bus to experience the highlight of the excursion: Machu Picchu. Take a 2.5-hour guided tour through the alleys and passageways of one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.
Afterwards, have another 2 hours of free time to explore the area or climb the Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountains on your own. There are spectacular views from the top. Next, return by bus to Aguas Calientes and have time to eat on your own and continue exploring the small Andean town.
Finish the excursion by returning by train to Ollantaytambo and from there by bus to your hotel in Cusco.
