Description
The excursion to Humantay Lake is a unique experience and the best option to be in contact with nature. Let yourself be amazed by the beautiful turquoise lake, the valleys and the sacred mountains.
The first thing we will do in the humantay lagoon service is to pick you up directly from your hotel 4:00 AM, then we will drive for 2 hours to the place of Mollepata where you will have the opportunity to enjoy an excellent breakfast after breakfast. We prepare for a 1 hour drive to the trekking point (Soraypampa) and then we start with a 1 and a half hour hike uphill to the famous Humantay lagoon (4200 m.a.s.l.). Upon arrival at the lagoon you will have enough time to explore the crystal clear waters of Humantay and have the opportunity to observe the local wild birds and varieties of flora. All of which you will explore with your guide and then perform an ancestral ceremony in homage to the Pacha Mama and the Apus. Then we prepare to return downhill to Soraypampa where you will take the bus back to the town of Mollepata where you will enjoy a lunch prepared with local ingredients and then we will take our bus back to Cusco arriving between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the drop-off point near the Plaza de Armas.

During your trip, extra expenses such as entrance fees, water, souvenirs and others can only be paid in cash and Peruvian soles.
You will walk 2.5 km to reach the top of the humantay lake.
Bring a sweater, jacket, hat and warm gloves.
If for any reason you need to rent a horse, the local partner does not manage these rentals and will not intervene in the process.
It is mandatory to wear sunglasses during the entire tour.
The local partner is not responsible for changing weather conditions; choose the best day of departure based on research.
The dirt road is not in the best conditions; the route may cause altitude sickness. It is recommended to carry personal medication or pills against altitude sickness.
Each person walks at a different speed. The guide will be in different places helping the group
it is recommended to bring cash to pay for the entrance fee to humantay lake, as credit cards are not accepted.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
