Cajamarca is a tourist experience that allows you to explore this charming city in northern Peru. Cajamarca is known for its rich history and beautiful colonial architecture.
Day 1
The Guitar and Dairy Route
- Qhapac Ñan: We visited El Qhapac Ñan (Alameda with the 14 Incas of our history)
- “Los Sapitos” Zoolitic Zone: We continue to visit the Sapitos stone forest (political zone)
- Namora (Guitars): In the Namora district we will taste the typical alfajores and visit a guitar workshop to see the guitar making process.
- Laguna de San Nicolás: the Laguna de San Nicolás, the largest in the north of Cajamarca (relaxing ride on reed horses).
Colpa and Llancanora
- Former Hacienda la Colpa: Visit to the former Hacienda Collpa to observe the famous cow call by name, the former hacienda house, the chapel, artificial lagoon and taste dairy products.
- Llacanora Waterfalls: In the peculiar district of Llacanora we visited 02 waterfalls, known as the female waterfall and the male waterfall, in addition to the landscape and nature that surrounds us along the way.
Day 2
The Route of Nature and Mysticism
- Huambocancha: We start by visiting Los Picapedreros, beautiful stone works carved in Quartz, onyx, etc.
- Porcòn: Then we will move to one of the few existing agricultural cooperatives in Peru, which is better known as Granja Porcòn, we will walk through the mini-zoo, taste their industrial products and appreciate the crafts they offer us.
Otuzco
- Ventanillas de Otuzco: We will visit the windows or necropolis of Otuzco (funerary buildings that appear to be windows due to their shape).
- Hanging bridge and Campiña Cajamarquina: We will appreciate the landscape and greenery of Cajamarca and live the adventure of crossing the hanging bridge.
- Hydrangea Garden: Variety of hydrangeas, as well as native plants and Cajamarquina crafts.
- Hacienda 3 Molinos: Appreciate the dairy production process, as well as tasting and purchasing.
Day 3
The Thermalism and Archeology Route
Inca Baths
- Baños del Inca Complex: Chroniclers say that the Inca Atahualpa regained his strength by taking a bath in these volcanic waters, in the famous “Pozo del Inca” that we can still visit in this place. These exceed 70 degrees in temperature and have mineral components to which medicinal properties are attributed.
Cumbemayo
- Bellavista Viewpoint: We will appreciate a beautiful view of the splendid city of Cajamarca.
- Cumbemayo Circuit: We will visit the impressive northern Andean landscape and the frailones volcanic rock forest.
