Join us on an exciting journey from Arequipa to the Majes Valley. Discover ancient petroglyphs, hike to see dinosaur footprints, and enjoy a delightful lunch in Aplao before returning to Arequipa.
Our day begins at 6:00am with a departure from Arequipa towards the Majes Valley.
At 10:00am, we will make our first stop at the Toro Muerto Petroglyphs. This site features an impressive array of around 500 volcanic rock carvings scattered across the landscape. These petroglyphs include intricate zoomorphic figures such as birds, mammals, and reptiles, providing a fascinating glimpse into ancient artistry.
By 11:30am, we will proceed to visit the Dinosaur Footprints of Querulpa. This part of the tour involves a 20-minute hike up a hill where you can view replicas of extinct dinosaurs. Along the way, there is a small museum to explore, and at the hill's summit, you will witness actual traces of dinosaur footprints, a remarkable link to the prehistoric era.
At 1:00pm, we will enjoy lunch in the town of Aplao, offering a chance to relax and savor local cuisine.
Finally, at 2:00pm, we will return to the city of Arequipa, concluding our tour.
