Description
Narrow streets, white houses and flowery courtyards... Cordoba seems to have a lost twin on the other side of the Atlantic. Let yourself be enchanted by the beauty of the White City
After picking you up from your hotel at 9:00 a.m., we will start our guided tour of the White City of Arequipa. We will explore how it got its nickname, while contemplating its volcanic stone and ashlar buildings that evoke the typical architecture of Andalusian villages.
We will head to the Plaza de Armas to admire the Cathedral of Arequipa and the Church and Cloisters of the Society of Jesus. We will also stop at the Tambos de Bronce and La Cabezona, ancient trading sites where bartering was the method of exchange.
Our final destination will be the Monastery of Santa Catalina de Siena, a walled citadel that was once a convent for cloistered nuns. During the guided tour of the convent, we will discover some of the legends hidden within its walls, stroll through its beautiful cloisters and gardens, and admire its valuable art collection.
The visit will conclude at your hotel or at any other point in the centre of Arequipa of your choice, at around 13:00 hours.
