DAY 1: PUNO – COLCA
From 6.00 am to 6:30 am, we pick you up from the meeting point in Puno, then we head to the Colca Valley making the following stops:
“Lagunillas”: At this viewpoint you have a panoramic view of the small lakes that seem to be mirrors reflecting the sky, it is also the habitat of Andean flamingos and other birds, without a doubt, a great opportunity to take photographs. Finally, we will arrive at the city of
“Patahuasi” (Pampa Cañahuas): Located in the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, which is located behind the Chachani volcano, we will find vicuñas, llamas and alpacas, with great luck in the distance we could see foxes, guanacos or even pumas. Place where we can taste hot drinks based on natural herbs such as coca, chachacoma, muña; At this point they will also be able to use the SS.HH, in addition to being able to buy crafts and souvenirs.
Tocrapampa: we will make a technical stop to observe the South American camelids such as: llamas and alpacas grazing in their natural habitat, with a little luck we will observe the vicuñas, privileged animals for possessing the finest and most expensive fiber in the textile industry.
“Mirador de los Volcanes”: located at 4900 meters above sea level. We will stop to observe the “Volcanoes” Ampato, Sabancaya, Hualca Hualca, Mismi (source where the Amazon River is born) and the Chila mountain range. You can also see the “Apachetas” (in ancient times, travelers left these small stone towers as offerings to the gods).
At 12:30 we are arriving in Chivay, to have lunch and respectively accommodation in their hotels.
DAY 2: COLCA /CRUZ DEL CONDOR/AREQUIPA
In the morning, after breakfast we will go to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint. Passing through the town of Yanque, visit its church, built in honor of the Virgin Immaculate Conception, in the main square every morning you can see an exhibition of local crafts and the representative dance of the Colca Valley, the “wititi”, declared as Cultural and intangible heritage by UNESCO, we continue through the magical Colca Valley passing through impressive landscapes and traditional towns, arriving at approximately 8:10 am. To the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint where we will be waiting for the imposing flight of the condors, enormous Andean birds in danger of extinction that are the symbol of the Andes Mountains and the Andean culture, the view from the viewpoint allows us to fully appreciate the size of the Colca Canyon, considered one of the deepest in the world (4160m). During the trip, stops are made at viewpoints for photographic hiking, we will visit the town of Maca that still preserves its colonial church “Santa Ana”, its interior decorated with altarpieces bathed in gold leaf. Afterwards we return to the town of Chivay for lunch, after lunch we will return to the city of Arequipa, arriving in Arequipa at approximately 4:30
