From Ancash: Lagoon Route 69 - trekking guide - Full Day

The hike to Laguna 69, located at 4600 meters above sea level, is considered by most guides as one of the most impressive scenic hikes in the entire Huascaran National Park.
We will leave early, around 4:00 am, towards Yungay, to the north, and then we will head east, crossing a steep road until we reach the impressive Huascaran National Park after a journey of more than 3 hours. From the starting point of our hike, located at 4,640 meters above sea level, we will be greeted by magnificent views of Peru's highest mountains, such as the majestic Huascaran (6,768 m) and the imposing peaks of Chopicalqui, Huandoy, Chacraraju and Pisco.We will begin our route to a lookout point near the Yanapacha glacier, where we will be treated to dazzling panoramic views of the high peaks around us. From here, we will embark on a long descent through rocky trails and Queñuales forests to reach a glacier lake at the foot of the Yanapaccha glacier. We will continue descending until we meet the main route that will take us to Laguna 69, located at about 4200 meters above sea level. Then, we will begin a new ascent of approximately 3 km, passing by the charming Consuelo Lagoon and some impressive waterfalls, until we reach the 69 Lagoon, located at 4600 meters above sea level, after approximately an hour and a half of ascent. Here, you will have time to relax, enjoy lunch and capture memorable photos. For the descent, we will follow the traditional path from Laguna 69 to Cebollapampa, from where we will return to Huaraz.
