The Moche and Chimu civilizations, two prominent pre-Columbian cultures of northern Peru, are also recognized as the origin of the traditional Peruvian dance, the marinera.
ITINERARY:
The excursion starts at 10:00 a.m. with the meeting point at the Plaza de Armas in Trujillo. From there, we will head southeast to explore the Moche countryside. Our first stop will be at the Huacas de la Luna, where you will immerse yourself in the fascinating Moche culture, admiring its polychrome murals and frieze reliefs that will captivate you. Afterwards, we will visit the Huaca Chica in Moche Pueblo, where you will have free time to enjoy a meal in the nearby restaurants. After regaining your strength, you will attend an exciting equestrian show and the emblematic Peruvian seafaring dance. Next, we will explore Chan Chan, the majestic adobe citadel, the largest in the Americas and dedicated to the god of the sea. After this visit, we will head to Huanchaco beach to enjoy an hour at leisure, where you can watch the sunset or stroll along the tourist pier. Finally, we will return to Trujillo and conclude the excursion around 6:00 pm.
