Explore the breathtaking landscapes and rich history of the Peruvian Andes from the Callejón de Huaylas to the Llanganuco Lagoon, and from the Chavin Archaeological Monument to the Querococha Lagoon
Day 1: Callejon de Huaylas / Campo Santo de Yungay / Llanganuco Lagoon / Caraz / Taricá
Reception at the bus terminal and transfer to the chosen hotel. At around 8:30 a.m. you will enjoy breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast we will start our tour through the spectacular Callejón de Huaylas, following the course of the Santa River. We will pass through charming Andean villages and marvel at the incomparable beauty of the Cordilleras Blanca, highlighting the imposing Nevado Huascaran and the Cordillera Negra. We will visit the charming provinces of Carhuaz where we can taste ice cream and natural fruit liqueurs, Mancos and Campo Santo de Yungay and Nuevo Yungay our final destination will be the Huascaran National Park, with the outstanding Llanganuco Lagoon as the central point of the trip. In Chinancocha, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a short, relaxing hike around these two lagoons, where you can admire the majesty of the snow-capped peaks Huascaran, Yanapaccha, Pisco and Huandoy, as well as the wild flora and fauna, we will arrive to the town of Caraz, where we will explore small factories that produce dairy and other products. :30 pm: Return and arrival in Huaraz, completing a day full of unforgettable experiences and cultural discoveries in the Peruvian Andes.
Day 2: Chavín Archaeological Monument / Querococha Lagoon / Chavín National Museum
Start the day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel. At around 09:00 a.m. we start our day, crossing the picturesque Andean villages of Recuay, Ticapampa and Cátac, before taking the detour that will take us to the impressive Conchucos Valley. Our first destination will be the Querococha Lagoon, also known as the Wood Lagoon in Quechua, famous for its natural formation that resembles the map of Peru. We will continue our tour enjoying the spectacular Andean landscapes and passing through charming villages such as Máchac and Quercos.
We could not miss a visit to the Chavin Archaeological Monument, where we will explore the emblematic Cabezas Clavas, the impressive Lance of Chavin, the Altar of Chinchay Choque, the Portal of Falconidas, as well as galleries, labyrinths and ceremonial squares that will transport us to the ancient history of the region. We will also visit the National Museum of Chavin to complete our cultural experience. Approximately 5:30 p.m. Return to Huaraz. At the agreed time, transfer to the bus terminal for the next destination.
