Description

Live a unique experience exploring the Moche and Chimu culture, from local crafts and cuisine to the impressive Huacas and the fishing tradition of Huanchaco.
10:00 - Moche Countryside Exploration
We begin our journey by heading into the beautiful Moche countryside, where we will have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the daily life of the Mocheros. We will observe their artisanal skill in the creation of pottery, leather work, wood and stone carvings, as well as basketry, reflecting their rich cultural heritage. In addition, we will taste some traditional dishes that will give us an authentic taste of the local gastronomy.

Next, we will head to the impressive Huacas del Sol y de la Luna, a majestic Moche sanctuary comprising a set of emblematic monuments. These huacas were the heart of the Moche culture from the 1st century BC to the 9th century, and their imposing structures tell us stories of rituals, beliefs and life in the ancient capital of this civilization.

Time for lunch
After enjoying a typical meal, we will continue our tour to the fascinating ruins of Chan Chan, a vast complex consisting of nine citadels or palaces. Each citadel features impressive architectural features, with a monumental design and restricted access, reflecting the complexity and sophistication of the Chimú culture that succeeded the Moche.

Next, we will move on to Huanchaco, a picturesque fishing cove that has preserved many of the traditions of its Moche ancestors. Here, the inhabitants continue to use the emblematic "caballitos de totora", small boats made of reed, which are essential in traditional fishing and remain a symbol of cultural identity.

18:00 - End of Tour
By the end of our day, we will have gained a deep understanding of the rich history and traditions of the region, taking with us indelible memories of this unique experience.
