On this tour of Chan Chan and Huanchaco we will immerse ourselves in ancient Peruvian culture and discover one of the most important pre-Hispanic cities in America.
At the agreed time, we will meet on Jirón Orbegoso street in Trujillo and head to the pre-Columbian city of Chan Chan, a pre-Hispanic adobe settlement belonging to the Chimú kingdom. For an hour, we will visit the Nik Ann palace, full of monochrome reliefs, and the Chan Chan Site Museum, whose pieces will provide us with valuable information about the pre-Columbian history of Peru. After visiting Chan Chan, we will go to Huanchaco beach, a beach known throughout the world for its fierce waves. Its name comes from the word guaukocha, which means "lagoon of the golden fish." In Huanchaco, you will have an hour of free time to have lunch or relax by strolling along the shore while admiring the caballitos de totora, boats made from a local plant, which will undoubtedly surprise you! From Huanchaco we will finally return to Trujillo. Arrival at your hotel is scheduled three and a half hours after the start of the activity.
